SMILE LASIK Day: From Arrival to Your First Night
The procedure itself is short. What makes you nervous is the unknown — here is the whole day, hour by hour.
You are on the table for barely ten minutes. Knowing the day's flow in advance cuts the nerves in half.
Arrival ~ final check (about 1 hour)
- Arrive 10 minutes early. After check-in, your vision and cornea get a final confirmation test.
- Your interpreter stays with you throughout — ask anything, anytime.
The procedure (10–15 minutes)
- Numbing eye drops only — no needles.
- The few dozen seconds of holding your gaze on the target light matter most. Just follow the team's guidance.
The first 2–3 hours after
- Stinging, watering, hazy vision — all normal.
- You rest in the recovery room with protective glasses, then head home. No driving yourself.
Your first night
- Use the prescribed eye drops on schedule — turn on app reminders so you never miss one.
- No phone or TV screens, just for today.
- Do not rub your eyes. Wearing the protective shield while sleeping keeps you safe.
